Do you want to FAST this Lent?

(courtesy of Pope Francis)

FAST from hurting words, and say kind words

FAST from sadness, and be filled with gratitude

FAST from anger, and be filled with patience

FAST from pessimism, and be filled with hope

FAST from worries, and trust in God

FAST from complaints, and contemplate simplicity

FAST from pressures, and be prayerful

FAST from bitterness, and fill your heart with joy

FAST from selfishness, and be compassionate to others

FAST from grudges, and be reconciled

FAST from words, and be silent so you can listen

 The Lent Diary

Prayer ideas and suggestions to help you make Lent 2019 special.

Week 3

Mon 18th March

Write down all that you eat today & pray for those who are hungry. How much did it cost? Put the same amount into your Jar of Grace.

Tue 19th March

Pray for our local schools and pray especially for the schools you attended.

Wed 20th March

Pray for those who are unable to have children and for those who foster and adopt.

Thurs 21st March

Why not come and bring someone to Craft & Chat in Church at 10.00am?

Fri 22nd March

Pray for our choir & organist, our servers, sidespeople, cleaners, administrators, openers, closers and flower arrangers.

Sat 23rd March

Pray for our Vestry and Wardens. What will you do to help St Andrews’ Mission Work this year?

Sun 24th March

Really pay attention at the Eucharist today. Sit in a different place in church and try to see everything in a new way.

The Church is open daily. The formidable front door will yield as you turn the handle, and lights will come on as you enter, to welcome you.

There is level access for services, via the backdoor, through the gate at the left side of the Church.

St Andrew's is part of the Diocese of Edinburgh within the Scottish Episcopal Church, which is itself part of the world-wide Anglican Communion

We are committed to exploring ways in which we can serve God both within our church families and in and around our local communities. We also play a full part in our town's ecumenical 'Churches Together' groups, sharing occasional services and pieces of outreach work with the local Church of Scotland congregations, the Quakers and the Roman Catholics.
