Footprints

St Andrew’s Church Kelso

An Eco Congregation

As a response to COP26 we are inviting you to decorate a Footprint , available in Church, as a prayerful and thought-provoking way to process your thinking on how we respond to Climate Change.
We hope that you will decorate one of these footprints in whatever way you would like and then bring them to the Prayer Space so that all our prayers merge together.
You may want to put pictures or words on your footprint.

   Here are some suggestions:

Live life simply so others may simply live

Every part of the earth is sacred

Restore the waters, refresh the air, revive the land.

   Make do and mend

   Refuse, reduce, reuse, repurpose, recycle

A new heaven and a new earth
“Forget the former things, behold I am making everything new”

Small actions by millions can transform the world

Earth provides enough to satisfy every one’s need, but not everyone’s    greed

Breathe new life into all God’s creation and begin with us.

As you pray and create, we hope that you can share your prayer with others and collectively we will have an installation that will speak for all of us.

You can attach buttons, beads, objects from nature; seed heads, acorns,   etc.

   The choice is yours.

For the card version use any media you prefer, pens, collage, paints

Creation Prayer

Creator, Father of all,

You give us life,

You give us love,

You give us yourself.

Help us to give

Our lives,

Our love,

Ourselves to you.

Whatever befalls the earth

befalls the children of the earth.

Every part of the earth is sacred.

This we know, the earth does not belong to us;

we belong to the earth.

Every part of the earth is sacred.

This we know,

all things are connected;

like the blood that connects one family.

Every part of the earth is sacred.

Our God is the same God,

whose compassion is equal for all.

Every part of the earth is sacred.

We did not weave the web of life,

we are merely a strand in it.

Every part of the earth is sacred.

Whatever we do to the web

we do to ourselves.

Every part of the earth is sacred

For all belongs to our Creator.
