Rector's latest letter

Dear Congregation

I write to you with a few things as we begin to slowly return to some form of normality.

We have now removed the seating restrictions in church as Social Distancing rules are relaxed but we are still, in accordance with the law, insisting that masks are worn at our services. I am sure in the future we will see other steps forward but at present we are taking things slowly. As always if you see or feel that something is not right please speak to the clergy or wardens.

Grace and I will continue to record a service each week. Every time we think that we may stop the recorded service we get a spate of people saying how much they value it, which is lovely. You can find the service and the sermon archive at:

https://www.standrewskelso.co.uk/online-services

Traditionally we have our Summer Sale at this time of year which is our annual major fundraising event. For the second year running we are unable to hold the sale which is having a major effect on our income.

I am aware that many people use the Summer Sale as an opportunity to donate to church funds. Should you wish to give a gift this year we would be delighted to receive it. The easiest way is a bank transfer with your name and donation as a reference. Please contact

rectorofkelso@gmail.com

for bank details

Alternatively, by post to:

St Andrew’s Donations, The Rectory, 6 Forestfield, Kelso TD57BX

The other method is in an envelope marked Donation placed in the Carboy at the back of church

If you are a UK taxpayer, please request that we claim the Gift Aid on your behalf.

I hate asking for money, but this is an ideal time to do something before the end of our financial year on 30th September.

Finally, we have a unique opportunity for you to win a beautiful Hand Sewn Quilt. See separate post for the details.

This comes with Grace’s and my love and prayer sand thanks for all the love, encouragement, and support that you continue give us.

Bob
